Contemporary Istanbul announced an exciting collaboration with Tabanlıoğlu Architects in the 12th Contemporary Istanbul and the future editions. This year, the art fair aims to have a strong architectural message and Tabanlıoğlu’s design will have an impact on both interior and exterior design of the fair. In addition, the VIP Lounge by Tabanlıoğlu Architects will be hosting both local and international art lovers and collectors.

With its long family tradition since the 1950s, the award winning architecture firm is established by Murat Tabanlıoğlu, successor of Dr. Hayati Tabanlıoğlu, in 1990 and joined by Melkan Gürsel as partner in 1995.Operating mainly in Turkey, MENA and CIS Countries with its offices in Istanbul, New York, London, Dubai and Doha, Tabanlıoğlu Architects’ projects comprise wide range of building types with various awards including RIBA International in 2011 and 2013.

Being the architects of AKM and İstanbul Modern, the office has strong ties in the art scene and already curated exhibitions such as the first Pavillion of Turkey at the 2014 Venice Biennale, “Port City Talks: Istanbul Antwerp” at the MAS Museum, and designed installations and performances in collaboration with artists.
