Contemporary Istanbul has laid out its 2018 road map for new projects and goals. As the region’s most important international contemporary art fair, CI assembles the very best of contemporary art from Turkey and the world. In the vanguard in a year of innovations, this year’s fair runs 20-23 September, alongside Akbank, CI’s main sponsor.
Contemporary Istanbul’s prowess springs from its achievements, experiences and young art aficionados. In 2018, through new projects, CI is more robust than ever. Contemporary Istanbul works for progress in the art world, to set it on a new trajectory and enable it to acquire new dimensions. To this end, CI hosts local and foreign art aficionados, this year.
Reduce VAT on Art Works
Contemporary Istanbul’s goal is to pioneer progress in Turkey’s art world. It strives for a reduction of VAT on art works to 1%, which would be extremely beneficial to the Turkish art market. CI held meetings last month with Turkey’s Minister of Finance, Naci Ağbal, and Minister of Culture and Tourism, Numan Kurtulmuş, on this topic with a view to buttressing and expanding Turkey’s art market.
